Sunset in Boracay

There's not a huge amount of things to do on Boracay, apart from lay on the beach, swim, eat, drink, water sports, and walking up and down the beach. But that's the charm of any tropical island.

And then, of course, there are sunsets....

Black Saturday Bushfires, One Year On

One year ago today, on 7 February 2009, Australia experienced its worst natural disaster when massive bushfires swept across the state of Victoria. 173 were killed.

This is my small memorial to those people who died, their grieving friends and families, the injured, the countless dead and injured animals, the firefighters, and the devastated small towns across the state which are still recovering.

Boracay island, the Philippines #1 - banana boat

These kids really wanted to try the banana boat at Boracay, but the boat owner had already brought it back to the beach for the night. Give it a few more years yet, kids! These rides can get seriously dangerous in rough weather, bucking like a bronco at a rodeo.

Beware of the snake!
